When Michele “Shelly” Snyder was twenty, she sought a career in Law Enforcement while putting herself through college. While working as a 911 Operator and Police Dispatcher in both St. Pete and Georgia, she developed a passion for the criminal justice system.
In South Georgia, Michele combined her passion for public safety and communications by becoming a Certified Radio Communications Instructor. Throughout her years raising a family and working, she became engaged in the local community, serving and encouraging the homeless and the unemployed.
Michele knew then that there had to be a better way to empower those in the community, to come alongside of them, and help them become self-sufficient individuals. She desired to see the community change on person at a time. This vision continued to grow as Shelly left law enforcement to pursue opportunities in the financial realm, learning key financial principles in the corporate world. She soon entered the courtroom setting, advocating for men and women who needed hope for a future. She strives to empower these individuals in the courtroom with mercy and grace, teaching them to be free by embracing the truth.
Michele has been working in the community assisting with crisis intervention for twenty years. This experience has given her a the ability to assist in the development of Empowered to Change transforming into an international organization that desires to empower the world to change, one intervention at a time. The vision for intervention is not just in the realm of individuals, but is from a place of unification between law enforcement, the judicial system and legislation. Michele knows that unification is the only means that will bring about a system that not only works in tandem with each other but also transforms our society.
Michele reaches from the depths of her own life story to teach and coach those in crisis to become independent, financially stable and self-sufficient individuals who become productive members of society. She works countless hours each week to expose truth in love and to encourage her clients to move beyond the current circumstances and begin to walk out with their own vision for their life.
Shelly’s strength comes from her personal faith and the support of her family. She has a wonderful husband and together they have six children.
Michele has spoken at women’s conferences and is a sought out financial advisor. She is often used to help other nonprofits remain debt free.
Michele has an Associate of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Georgia Military College, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis on Sociology from St. Petersburg College.
