Coral Sheppard, MA

Coral Sheppard, MA

Coral works across the state of Florida and beyond to empower people to change their lives and become productive members of society. After spending nearly a decade using her voice and experience to help the community become able to receive people with challenged backgrounds, she believes that everyone deserves a second chance. She works in tandem with the judicial system and legislators alongside various organizations in assisting returning citizens to move to a place of restoration. Coral seeks to build programs that empower returning citizens to get up from a place of brokenness and begin to thrive and dream again, knowing that anything is possible.

Her life story compelled her to become active in our communities, helping others move beyond the places in the justice system—that often disqualify returning citizens from their constitutional rights—to a place of hope restored and a full return to society. She seeks to bring about the true definition of justice and redemption—and to create a society that walks away knowing that truth. She believes that this restoration will bring about the change needed to bring liberty and justice for all.

Coral is a sought-out speaker and has been invited to speak at many engagements including the Florida Rights and Restoration Convening 2018 as well as interviewed with Fox 13, PBS News Hour, Ben and Jerry’s, The Love Vote, News Channel, HBO Vice News and CNBC. She is passionate about redemption which propels her to advocate for those in need and to participate in community organizing. She is an active participant in the fight for criminal justice, social justice and prison reform using her voice to influence legislation to create a holistic community.

Coral is a certified life coach with a focus in detoxification, sober living, healthy sexuality and spiritual renewal. Coral holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, a Master’s Degree in Human Services/Marriage and Family Therapy and is currently working on a second master’s degree in divinity.
